summer day .

Two days after we came back from France, my brother and I flew to Canada to see our family. I was so excited to go back again! Life is easy there - endless time and tons of things to do.  Finally going for the daily run through the woods again,  having bonfires with my brothers and just having great family days.
This summer we had the chance to go to a friends' private boathouse - which is literally "on" the lake! As always, British Columbia treated us with the nicest summer weather and the light was simply beautiful.

Sometimes my family, especially my brothers, gets a little annoyed by me taking pictures of them all the time, but I know in ten years they will be so happy to have all these captured memories! Maybe I'll make a really fat picture album one day
(I think I could already fill about 5000 pages with shots from the past eight years).

Each time leaving gets harder.. I'm really considering to do a year of study abroad in the Pacific North West area. Over the past two years I just fell in love with the nature and the life there. I've done two roadtrips down the Westcoast and I'm still thinking about the ocean, the mountains and cities there, and when I can go back and see more of that area.
Mmmh.. maybe next year?

roadtrippin'

Hello people! No idea if anyone is actually reading this, but let's just pretend -
I've been traveling for the past two months, from Berlin to Munich to the Lago di Garda, to France, to Spain, back to France, back to Munich, to Frankfurt and ending up here in Canada. So there's that.

Here are some of the pictures my friend Sarah took with her phone.. sadly I don't have any pictures myself. Not because I didn't take any, but because all my stuff got stolen on the last day. Don't ever, ever! let your stuff in the car kids! Not even when the waves are amazing and it's your last day of vacation and "nothing happened the last times" you left it in the car.. So now everything is gone - bag, all my "important cards", my phone and all the pictures with it..
But nevermind! Most of the stuff is replaceable!
Our trip was great - good waves, good people, amazing places and finally got my own board (yay for longboards!). We drove from Pin Sec, a very small place, which mostly consists of a camping ground and the surf spot, all the way down to Sopelana, a surf town close to Bilbao. The waves turned out to be really good in Spain, so we ended up stayed most of the time at the spanish, or to be specific: the basque, coast.
Even though the waves were better, I do prefer the wide, endless beaches at the french coast. Perfect for long walks and runs!
And when you walk for 10 minutes, away from the Lifeguard-Zone, you have the beach (and the waves) literally all to yourself!
